I am very excited to be going to FOWA February 22nd-24th, 2009 in Miami! I can’t wait to hear the following speakers: Michael Arrington of TechCrunch, Jason Fried of 37 Signals, & Dion Almaer of Google.
It will also be a lot of fun to see my friends from Florida who I haven’t seen since I moved out of Miami! Not to mention the nice weather and the beach!
I am finally getting around to making the design updates to my website. Since I got married in June life has been really busy! We went on a cruise to Alaska for two weeks in August, then it was my Dad’s and Shaun’s BD, and now it is October already. I can’t believe how fast this year went. Work has been great! Very busy with new websites and fun clients. I will be updating the design a tiny bit, mostly just changing my name from Amy Serbonich to Amy Andrews. Now people never ask how to spell my last name anymore!
I just got married on June 14th! The wedding was so much fun, but of course it went by way too fast! I will be making updates to my website soon. After all, I need a new logo that says Amy Andrews!
I just got engaged on 12/23/2007 to my boyfriend (now fiancee) Shaun Andrews!! Since then I have been making the wedding plans, buying my dress, etc and I am loving it! It is a lot of work, but also fun!
I am going to change my domain name to http://www.amyandrews.name and update my site a bit. Look for the new changes after my wedding on 6/14/2008! Hopefully I will have some free time soon to update my site and add more features!
I bought an iPhone a month ago, but work has been really busy so I haven’t been able to get time to write in my blog. The iPhone is awesome by the way! I bought a Blackberry Curve a month before I got the iPhone, but my cute Jack Russell Terrier, Chloe, got a hold of it and broke the screen. I was really liking it too, but this was a blessing in disguise. I also thought that the touch screen would bother me because I was used to the keyboard on the Blackberry, but I got used to it really quick. I give the iPhone a 10/10 for the best cell phone ever! Plus its an iPod also!
I read last week that Google is going to put Google Maps on gas pumps across the US beginning early next month! This is a really good idea, I am not sure why no one thought of it before. If you are lost all you got to do is pull into a gas station and use Google Maps from a small screen on the gas pump. It is also going to be in color. Now if you are lost you don’t have to ask anyone for directions!
As a web developer I spend a lot of time at my desk. Even if I am not working, I am still reading blogs including Freelance Switch. They made a funny list of the Top Ten Signs You Need to Spend More Time Away From Your Desk. Sadly, in my case I really need some time away from my desk according to the list! My favorite is #3. How about you?
Wired Magazine had an article that I read online today about the birth of the Internet. The Internet’s first RFC (Request For Comments) was published today back in 1969. Today, there are many published RFC’s that guide us through the ideas and research of today’s Internet technologies!
