I just got married on June 14th! The wedding was so much fun, but of course it went by way too fast! I will be making updates to my website soon. After all, I need a new logo that says Amy Andrews!

I just got engaged on 12/23/2007 to my boyfriend (now fiancee) Shaun Andrews!! Since then I have been making the wedding plans, buying my dress, etc and I am loving it! It is a lot of work, but also fun!

I am going to change my domain name to http://www.amyandrews.name and update my site a bit. Look for the new changes after my wedding on 6/14/2008! Hopefully I will have some free time soon to update my site and add more features!

I bought an iPhone!

I bought an iPhone a month ago, but work has been really busy so I haven’t been able to get time to write in my blog. The iPhone is awesome by the way! I bought a Blackberry Curve a month before I got the iPhone, but my cute Jack Russell Terrier, Chloe, got a hold of it and broke the screen. I was really liking it too, but this was a blessing in disguise. I also thought that the touch screen would bother me because I was used to the keyboard on the Blackberry, but I got used to it really quick. I give the iPhone a 10/10 for the best cell phone ever! Plus its an iPod also!

Google Maps at Gas Pumps?

I read last week that Google is going to put Google Maps on gas pumps across the US beginning early next month! This is a really good idea, I am not sure why no one thought of it before. If you are lost all you got to do is pull into a gas station and use Google Maps from a small screen on the gas pump. It is also going to be in color. Now if you are lost you don’t have to ask anyone for directions!

Do You Spend Too Much Time At Your Desk?

As a web developer I spend a lot of time at my desk. Even if I am not working, I am still reading blogs including Freelance Switch. They made a funny list of the Top Ten Signs You Need to Spend More Time Away From Your Desk. Sadly, in my case I really need some time away from my desk according to the list! My favorite is #3. Wired Magazine had an article that I read online today about the birth of the Internet. The Internet’s first RFC (Request For Comments) was published today back in 1969. Today, there are many published RFC’s that guide us through the ideas and research of today’s Internet technologies!

New Google Personalized Homepage Features

If you use Google personalized homepage there are some cool new features that I really like! The two new features are choosing a theme of your choice and adding another personalized page tab. I wanted to add a tab with Fitness information so I selected Add a tab and entered Fitness into the form and Google automatically populated the page with Fitness widgets:

You can also move widgets from one page to another by simply dragging the widget to the tab of the page that you want it to be in!

The themes are also really smart. Depending on which theme you choose, they display the weather that is currently happening in your area. I chose the bus stop theme from the theme list:

Then I entered in my zip code and it showed the theme with the sun shining:

Then I went to weather.com and looked at the current weather conditions for an area that it was raining. I saw that it was raining in Lynnwood, WA, so I entered that into the zip code field and then the theme changed. It was now raining in the theme! As you can see, the characters also changed clothes for rainy weather:

I am very impressed with Google themes and tabs for the personalized homepage. I will definitely be using my Google personalized homepage a lot more!

It’s Official!

I did my capstone defense last night and I passed! I finally got my Master’s Degree from RIT! From here on out it is going to be all paperwork. I need to print out 4 copies of my paper and get them bound at Kinko’s. I am going to head on over to Kinko’s tonight after I am done going out to dinner to celebrate! Kinko’s is open 24 hours so that is really cool! After I get 4 copies of my paper bound, I need to burn 4 CD’s with all of my website and paper files. I also celebrated today by going tubing with my sisters and Shaun at my old elementary school. It was a lot of fun! I haven’t done it since I was a teenager!

LOST Is Returning This Week!

I am so happy that LOST is back on with the second part of season 3. However, I am more confused than ever. Here are some of the questions I have about LOST and hopefully some of them will be answered soon so that I can write about them!

1. Why are the others making Kate and Sawyer do stupid things such as shoveling rocks into a pile?

2. If the others can communicate with the outside world, why are they still on the island?

3. I have been waiting since season one to find out why the others took Claire’s baby..and I am still wondering…

4. What type of drugs are the others injecting into people and why just those people?

5. Why would the others just kidnap Kate, Sawyer, and Jack, but not anyone else? Is it because of the “love triangle” that they have?

6. and the number one questions is….Can Desmond now tell the future and will they use this advantage to attack the others?
